Colin Kaepernick’s Agent Contacts New York Jets: Quarterback Expresses Desire for NFL Return

Colin Kaepernick’s agent has reportedly contacted the New York Jets to express the quarterback’s desire to return to the NFL, according to journalist Jordan Schultz.

Famous for his protest movement against police violence, Kaepernick has not stepped on a field with an NFL team since May 2022, when the quarterback practiced with the Las Vegas Raiders. The former 49ers has not played a match since 2016, when he was still playing for San Francisco.

Earlier this summer, Kaepernick told Sports Illustrated that he was continuing to “push and fight” for a possible return to the NFL. As of June, the 35-year-old athlete did not have any training planned with one of the 32 teams.

Kaepernick, however, is hoping for a chance to see action again following Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury just four plays into Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills. A magnetic resonance imaging test later confirmed that the veteran quarterback’s season was over, propelling Zach Wilson as the number one quarterback.
