When is Climax Series 2023?

The first stage of the 2023 Climax Series will start on Saturday, October 14, 2023 for both the Central League and Pacific League. Round 2 is scheduled for Sunday 15th, Round 3 is scheduled for Monday 16th, and Tuesday 17th is a reserve day.

The final stage will also be held on the same schedule for both the Central and Pacific leagues. Round 1 will be held on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, Round 2 will be held on Thursday, October 19th, Round 3 will be held on Friday, October 20th. It is organized up to Round 6. In addition, there are two reserve days, 24th (Tuesday) and 25th (Wednesday).

No further matches will be held once the winning team has been determined for both the first stage and the final stage.

What are the results of Climax Series 2022?

In 2022, the Central League will consist of three teams: the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, and the Hanshin Tigers. In the Pacific League, three teams, Orix Buffaloes, Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, and Saitama Seibu Lions, participated in the Climax Series.

Central league first stage

The first stage of the Central League was a card against DeNA vs. Hanshin, and was held at Yokohama Stadium, home of DeNA, which was second in the pennant race.

Hanshin shut out DeNA 2-0 in the first match. However, DeNA defeated Hanshin 1-0 in the second match the next day, and the match was entangled in the third match.

In the third round, DeNA took the lead, but Hanshin reversed in the 6th inning. In the bottom of the 9th inning, with Hanshin leading 3-2 with a 1-run lead, DeNA created a chance for the bases loaded with 1 out. The first match was a complete victory for Orix. He pushed out in the 4th inning and scored 1 point with a walk. After that, Yoshida Masataka’s home run and other scores added up, showing an efficient offense with 8 hits and 5 points. He pitched well until the 8th inning, and Yoshihisa Hirano closed the game to win the game.

In the second round, Softbank took the lead in the first inning. However, Orix immediately tied the score with a timely infield hit by Yutaro Sugimoto.
