Pan American and Oceania Championships
Beauceronne Charline Bourque won the silver medal at the Pan American and Oceania Judo Championships, which are taking place this weekend in Alberta.
Yesterday, the native of Saint-Alfred climbed onto the second step of the podium in the cadets under 70 kg. Her compatriot Nova Rotbart followed her with bronze. American Shavon Gonzalez won gold in this category.
It was a successful start for Canadian cadet judokas as they won a grand total of eleven medals as the curtain-raiser to this event presented at the WinSport complex in Calgary.
Today, it will be the turn of the junior athletes to take to the tatami mats of the Pan American and Oceania Championships.
