Caimanes de Barranquilla Starts Baseball Champions League Strong with Victory over Leones de Yucatán

The ninth Caimanes de Barranquilla began its participation in the Baseball Champions League on the right foot, by defeating the local Leones de Yucatán, at the Kulkan Álamos stadium in Mérida, in Mexico, on the first day of the contest that is played in Aztec territory.

The competition founded in 2012, played for the first time in 2013 in Mexico and for the last time in 2019, also in Aztec territory, includes a total of 10 countries: Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama as the founders; plus Curacao, South Korea, Cuban-Americans, the United States, Indonesia and Japan, who were invited this year. In the first game for the Barranquilla ninth, it was for Rubén Galindo, while the defeat was carried out by Henderson Álvarez. The bran was owned by Elkin Alcalá.

Jesús Marriaga stood out for Caimanes, 3-for-4, with three doubles and two runs scored. Edwin García, 1-for-4, with two RBIs. And Pabel Manzanero, 1-for-4, with one RBI and one scored.
