For most fans, the jersey is as much a part of a visit to the stadium as bratwurst and beer. Of course with appropriate flocking.
A trend that can often be observed is that new BVB signings find their way onto the jerseys of Dortmund’s supporters. In the 61st Bundesliga season, however, the new transfers Marcel Sabitzer, Ramy Bensebaini, Felix Nmecha or Niclas Füllkrug are not among the most popular flocks. The undisputed favorite player is a black and yellow veteran: Marco Reus.

Let his name be loud Kicker-Information has been the most popular flock on the BVB jerseys in the current season. The Dortmund native played for the Black and Yellows as a youth before moving to Rot-Weiß Ahlen. In 2012, Marco Reus returned to his hometown club and has been wearing the BVB colors ever since. Last year, Reus extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund for another year. He wore the captain’s armband with the professionals for years, but the 34-year-old resigned from his position this season.

In recent games, Reus has proven that he doesn’t need the captain’s armband to be important for BVB. In the narrow 1-0 win against VfL Wolfsburg, Reus shot Dortmund to victory. The 34-year-old also scored in the 4-2 win against SC Freiburg.
Loyalty, commitment, down-to-earthness: that’s obviously well received. And the name Marco Reus will apparently appear even more often in the south stand this season.
