The third day of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Grand Slam saw the best heavyweight judokas in the world on the stage, ready to give their all to conquer the podium.

-90 kg category: Bulgarian Ivaylo Ivanov faced Mikhail Igolnikov. A difficult match for both, but Igolnikov scored two impressive waza-ari which earned him the Baku gold, a new title, which sent the crowd into raptures.

In the -78 kg Anna-Maria Wagner faced Alice Bellandi. Wagner ended the match on a high note with a big ippon to the delight of the local fans, who appreciated her high-energy judo. Another title for the German.

Category +78 kg Beatriz Souza and Rochele Nunez showed the true values of judo, celebrating Souza’s victory together, awarded by the world champion and double Olympic silver medalist Neil Adams.
In the – 100 kg category, Inal Tasoev expertly countered Tushishvili to take the victory. Agayar Akhundzada of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation Council presents the medals.
For the general public, Zelym Kotsoiev was determined to win the bronze medal, which he did in style! The local star showed great judo inspiring the young judokas present.
