Buggyra’s Challenging Season Ends with Disappointing Finish

A dramatic end to the season. In Spain, in addition to the basic team trio of Adam Lack, David Vršecký and Aliyyah Koloc, Jaroslav Janiš and Jaromír Jiřík defended the colors of Buggyra. Although they managed to win the qualification, they did not start the race in time due to problems with the fuel pump.

“It was an extremely demanding and long season. We haven’t stopped since Dakar. We completed a whole year of endurance races and in between also several long-distance rallies. The endurance season developed well from the start, we led during the year. We were unlucky a few times, but we didn’t make big mistakes,” team boss Martin Koloc evaluates Buggyra’s circuit season.

“In the end, the second place belongs to us in the championship, Aliyyah just finished second in GT Junior. When we consider how many great young drivers are driving in the 24H Series, this is an incredible result. We will work hard to be even better next year. I am very proud of our team, they never give up,” emphasizes the boss.

Although Buggyra dominated qualifying, she did not start the race in time due to problems with the fuel pump. The repair took the mechanics an hour.

“After winning qualifying, we knew we had the speed. That’s why we expected a slightly different start to the race, and not that it will start right after the service start. I was feeling a little desperate. Everyone goes off at the start and I restart the systems and try to find a way to get the car moving. But the team did an amazing job in the pits when they found a problem, were able to solve it and we drove the rest of the race without any problems,” Vršecký praises the mechanics.

Even though the Mercedes-AMG GT4 crew drove practically only the “twenty-three hour race”, they were able to withdraw a large part of their loss. She beat several more powerful GT3 cars and Cup Porsches and was only a minute and a half away from second place in class thanks to a well-thought-out strategy.

“We had the chance and the speed to win it. However, it’s a long race and a bit of luck is needed. And that was not on our side. Next year we will come stronger and more prepared and with better luck. But overall I’m satisfied,” assures Jaroslav Janiš, debutant in Buggyra colors. The experienced endurance driver drove the car to the finish line, and during the race he also participated in creating the team’s strategy.

The overall triumph in the GT4 category was enjoyed by the Korean team Atlas BX Motorsport, whose drivers won four of the five races in the series. Buggyra was the fastest in the 12-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
