Boston Celtics Sign Svi Mykhailiuk for 2023-2024 Season

The Boston Celtics have announced the signing of Svi Mykhailiuk for the 2023-2024 season, according to a team statement.

The forward divided the 2022-2023 edition between the New York Knicks and the Charlotte Hornets. In 32 games he averaged 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and the same number of assists. It will be the seventh uniform he has seen in five years of experience.

The Ukrainian was a free agent and had been in talks with the organization since last month. He also received offers from Europe, but has decided to continue another year in the NBA, which he arrived in 2018 as a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Mykhailiuk is valued for his ability from the perimeter. In 252 games he has made 332 triples in 921 attempts for 36 percent accuracy. His best season in this statistic was precisely the previous one with 42 percent accuracy, however, he had the second lowest number of pitches in his career with 99.

For their last quotas of the roster, Boston has wanted to reinforce the wings. The organization also invited forwards TJ Warren, Lamar Stevens and Louis King to train, but so far only Mykhailiuk has won a spot.
