Belgian rugby has a new main sponsor. Parts specialist TVH will provide financial support to the four national teams for the next three years. In addition, the Belgian league will also be renamed the TVH Rugby League. “This is good for the professionalization and growth of the sport,” says CEO Dominiek Valcke.
On the eve of the Rugby World Cup in France – which starts on Friday 8 September – the Belgian rugby federation has also made itself heard.
For example, parts specialist TVH was proposed as the new main sponsor of the Belgian Rugby Federation for the next three years. In a joint press conference, CEO of TVH Dominiek Valcke and chairman of the Belgian rugby federation Michiel Leysen already presented the plans.
“With TVH’s support, we can further professionalize and invest as a sport and federation”, the federation sounded hopeful. “Our ambition is to be at the World Cup in 2027 and to participate in the Olympic Games in 2028. ”
The national competition will start on September 9, which will be called the TVH Rugby League from now on. In addition, TVH will also be the sponsor of the four national men’s and women’s teams.
We hope to be able to give the necessary push with our support.
The new sponsorship deal is a win-win situation for both Belgian rugby and TVH itself.
“The sport is still young in Belgium, but we believe in the ambitions of the teams,” says CEO of TVH Dominiek Valcke. “We hope that with our support we can give the necessary push to make the sport even more grow and professionalize, in line with our slogan: Keeps you going. The values of the sport, namely: respect, passion, team spirit and solidarity, fit perfectly with our company values.”
“From a global perspective, the Rugby World Cup is the 3rd most watched sporting event in the world. And given the worldwide presence of TVH as a parts specialist, we can certainly also show off abroad.”
