The most famous rower in our country is called Tim Brys (31).

In Tokyo he finished 5th in the lightweight double sculls together with Niels Van Zandweghe, in the meantime he has been soloing in the open category for two years. His weight has therefore evolved from 72 to 85 kilograms.

Pim Raaben (technical director top sport at the Flemish Roeiliga): “Tim is doing fantastic so far. He has already achieved great results this season, he proves that he can compete with the best. Tim is very professional, he will make sure that he stands.”

Marlon Colpaert was also in the running for a long time, but in the end he just missed the boat.

Pim Raaben: “We have tested several rowers. Niels Van Zandweghe and Tibo Vivey are currently the fastest combination in the light doubles. We are focusing on them to enforce the Olympic qualification.”

requirement for Paris 2024: top 11 at the World Cup

Aaron Andries and Tristan Vandenbussche crew the third Belgian boat that wants to reach Paris. The two row in the double scull category. Last year they already gave their calling card to the promises with a European title and a world title.

Pim Raaben: “They are ready and have a good chance anyway. The double sculls is a strong category, but Aaron and Tristan have already proven that they can hold their own. They are confident at the start. It will be a matter for them to grow in the tournament.”
