Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen neutralize each other in the clash of the 4th day of the Bundesliga

The clash of the 4th day between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, the first two in the Bundesliga, kept its promises this Friday evening. In terms of rhythm and intensity on the pitch as well as in terms of the scenario, the meeting was exciting and the two teams finally neutralized each other (2-2).

The match quickly got excited with a headed goal from Harry Kane, the Bayern rookie, in the 7th minute. The England captain scored his 4th goal in as many matches with the Bavarian club. The visitors only took 17 minutes to equalize following a superb free kick from Grimaldo (24th, 1-1). The chances then followed one another: first of all a goal was logically refused to Victor Boniface for an offside position (33rd). It was followed by the double opportunity of Thomas Müller and Serge Gnabry (34th).

Definitely not successful, Boniface saw his shot blocked at the last moment after a nice number in the Bayern area (40th). Leroy Sané then took his chance but his shot was deflected with his fingertips, for a corner, by Lukas Hradecky, the Leverkusen goalkeeper, very lively (43rd) who repelled a header from Leon Goretzka (44th) with a reflex save ) before another stop in front of Gnabry (45th+1) who saw his head brush against the left post following a powerful cross from Sané (45th+2).

A thunderous end to the match

The half-time was not too much time to catch your breath after this exciting first period, especially since the second act was also going to offer its share of emotion with Boniface’s lob attempt (52nd), the face-to-face face of Kane lost against Hradecky (57th), Florian Wirtz’s cross shot on the post (78th) followed by a new duel won by Ulreich against the unfortunate Boniface (80th). In the 86th minute, Bayern undoubtedly thought they would win thanks to Goretzka’s goal who took advantage of excellent work from Mathys Tel to deceive the Bayern goalkeeper (2-1).

But in added time, Alphonso Davies mowed down Jonas Hofmann in the area and offered a penalty to the visitors transformed by Palacios (90th + 4, 2-2). The final thrill of the game was given by French defender Dayot Upamecano who, certainly, beat Hradecky but in an offside position and who therefore saw his goal disallowed.

Undefeated since the start of the season, the two teams who won their first three matches conceded their first draw, but remain co-leaders of the German Championship.
