ROVIGO – The journey of the girls from the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo in the A2 softball playoffs. The first double challenge played on the Legnano Softball diamond ends with a bitter taste for the rossoblùs, surpassed twice and now called to a difficult comeback. Many regrets especially for match one, which saw the Polesine give in to the landlords with a score of 13-12. The 9-1 misstep in game two was more clear-cut.
Excellent start “Girls” rossoblù, who immediately find a run in the first inning and reach home base seven times in the second. The match seems to be going downhill, instead Legnano puts in a third inning of eight points and, despite the Polesan attack continuing to score regularly even in the fourth and fifth, packs the counter pass. The game is very open and fought. On the platform Munaretto takes over Bernardi for the fiery finale. Legnano finds two more points between the fifth and sixth round. Rovigo stays in the wake, but in the last round in the box he stops at the only point scored by Avanzi and the Lombards can celebrate the victory of the first round.
In game two, the roster from Rovigo continues to hold its own against its opponents for the first two innings, closed at 0-0 with the defenses protagonists. Then the Lombard attack starts to mesh and finds the first two points in the third inning, further extending with another seven in the third which makes the rossoblù comeback prohibitive. The change on the pitch between Sovak and Munaretto does not change the inertia of the match, which ends with the only run from Rovigo scored by Silvoni in the fifth inning, the last of the match.
Saturday we return to the field on the Tassina diamond for match three of the semifinal. If the rossoblùs want to keep the dispute open and extend the series, there is only one result to achieve: victory.
To balance the disappointment of the Serie A2 girls, the Under 18 of the Adriatic Lng Baseball Softball Club Rovigo takes care of it, who won the pass for the national semifinals on Sunday of the league baseball category. The young rossoblùs in the triangle played on the home diamond in via Vittorio Veneto got the better of Macerata and Staranzano: 7-5 the success over the Marches, then replicated with a 5-1 over the Friulians. Nothing to do, however, for the Under 15 of baseball, who in the playoffs played in Turin came out with their heads held high in front of Fossano and Grosseto. The Under 12 baseball race also stopped: the very young rossoblù played with great courage in the playoffs staged in Avigliana, winning the first match against the hosts, but then giving way in the final match against Florentine Baseball. The seasonal balance for the rossoblù nursery is very positive so far, but the satisfactions could continue.
From this morning the Rovigo diamond in via Vittorio Veneto opened its doors to the Hungarian National Senior baseball team, hosted by the Rovigo Baseball Softball Club for a two-day gathering in preparation for the European Championships scheduled for the end of the month in the Czech Republic. On Thursday morning the entire delegation will be received at Palazzo Nodari by the municipal administration of Rovigo to underline the prestige of an event that consecrates the Tassina facility as a pole of international interest for baseball and softball and confirms the great organizational capacity of the rossoblù club.
