Bahian Flavor Takes Over Manchester as City Football Group Welcomes Bahia

This Saturday (2), the city of Manchester, England, gained a Bahian flavor. The City Football Group, which Bahia joined this year, held a welcome party for the Brazilians. The intention was to bring a bit of Bahian culture to the English, through football and music.

Before the match started, Carlinhos Brown got on the electric trio and presented a little of the traditional Bahian carnival. In addition to the singer, other artists were invited, such as A Dama, O Maestro and some timbaleiros performed for the club’s fans.

After the party, the Cityzens thrashed by 5×1 with the right to hat trick de Haland, Aké and Julian Alvarez completed the scoring. With the victory, the Manchester team maintains 100% success and the leadership of the Premier League.

Reception for players

Brown and the timbaleiros welcomed the City players on arrival at the stadium, with a long blue carpet. The club’s idea is to make an allusion to the Oscars, and all the players that passed received a “bath” of flower petals. Gunner Haland didn’t seem to understand very well what was going on. Midfielder Phil Foden, on the other hand, stopped and lengthened the singer.

Bahia of all

Fans who accompanied the party also got to know other elements of Bahian culture, such as capoeira, baianas de acarajé, the ribbons of Senhor do Bonfim. The person responsible for all this celebration was the CEO of City Football Group, Ferran Soriano, who was delighted with the people of Bahia when he visited the city to complete the purchase of 90% of the SAF of Bahia.

In addition to Bahia, City Football Group has other clubs around the world: Bahia (Brazil), Manchester City (England), New York City (United States), Melbourne City (Australia), Mumbai City FC (India), Lommel SK (Belgium), ESTAC Troyes, (France), Montevideo City Torque (Uruguay), Yokohama Marinos (Japan), Girona (Spain), Sichuan Jiniu (China), Palermo (Italy), Bolívar (Bolivia).
