Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Mega-Fair in the City Center

Juarez City.- The Francisco Villa corridor, located on 16 de Septiembre avenue, between Juárez and Ferrocarril avenues, in the city center, is the venue for one of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ).

On the street, the blue and yellow colors that distinguish the maximum house of studies and more than 60 modules that offer different services to the community were observed.

The university students and their teachers offer passers-by free medical, nutritional, dental, visual, veterinary, psychological care and legal consultation, among other services.

The corridor located in the heart of the city also became a sports field, as the university set up mini-courts for volleyball, basketball, table tennis, chess, and a judo ring.

“Since we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UACJ, the idea of ​​this mega-fair is to exhibit, to show the university here in the community of the City Center, so that they know us, so that they know what we do,” Hugo said. Padilla, head of sports at the UACJ.

In the place were the representative teams such as women’s basketball, judo, karate and baseball.

“The idea is to show the community of Juarez that the university has various areas, that although the main one is the academic part, we also have the representative sports and recreational part,” he added.

The UACJ Mega-Fair will also offer a section on legal advice, social work, psychological guidance, entrepreneurship, tourism, personal finance, information for open education, as well as modules on robotics and the Physics Circus.

The educational modules are the entertainment area of ​​the mega-fair, which has traditional board games such as lottery, Uno, snakes and ladders, memorama, Jenga, Chinese checkers, dominoes, puzzles, painting and drawing, and reading circles. . The institute modules section has six areas with the exhibition of services offered by the University, such as Fine Arts, the Language Center, as well as the sale of handicrafts.

Due to the large number of migrants in the Central zone, care was also provided to them through the International Organization for Migration (IOM). To liven up the event, the Festival of talent, folkloric dance is held, and with the participation of the Mariachi Canto a mi Tierra, the Origen Norteño group, the Anaíma group and the Mojigangas theater.

In the health section, medical consultation, nursing area, nutritional advice, physical therapy and rehabilitation, oral, visual, reproductive health, preventive medicine, geriatric care, addiction prevention, initial medicine and veterinary area with vaccination for pets are provided. , as well as home gardens.
