At the Sea Games two freediving world records for disabled people – Other Sports

Two freediving world records for disabled people were set on the opening day of the 18th edition of the Sea Games in Ischia. The historic event organized by the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities (Fipsas) brings together all the disciplines of water and beach sports until next Sunday and this year will also bring the sport to the streets. The program involves all the municipalities on the island.


The two records were set in front of Sant’Angelo beach in the municipality of Serrara Fontana by Fabrizio Pagani and Alessandro Cianfoni. The first, already holder of several world records in the indoor (swimming pool) and deep sea specialties. he set the record in variable weight with fins with 41.4 meters in 1’53. Cianfoni responded a few minutes later by setting the world record for freediving in constant weight without fins, with 26.50 m. in 1.32 minutes.


With this performance, the athlete from Velletri has added further prestige to his curriculum which already includes a CMAS World Record for the Disabled in Dynamic Freediving without equipment in a 25 m pool, and he will attempt a world record in constant weight freediving without fins.
