September 26 will be marked in the history of Argentine tennis as a day of historic reparation and fulfillment of a long-pursued dream: the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT) and the Government of the City of Buenos Aires signed a momentous collaboration agreement that will lay the foundations for the construction of the National Tennis Center.

This Tuesday, the President of the AAT, Agustín Calleri; Vice President Mariano Zabaleta; the Minister of Economic Development and Production of the City, José Luis Giusti; the Secretary of Sports of Buenos Aires, Carlos Retegui; and the Chief of Staff of the City Sports Secretariat, Santiago Pattyntoured the facilities of the Manuel Belgrano Park (also known as KDT) where the project will take place.

“The House of Tennis promises to become epicenter of the development of high performance tennis in the country for the training of new generations of tennis players, as well as at the headquarters of national and international tournaments of all categories, including the prestigious Billie Jean King Cup or dates of the ATP Challenger Tour.

“It is a historic compensation for Argentine tennis, expressed Agustín Calleri. “It is a fight that we have fought for years and we are finally seeing how it comes to fruition. Few federations in the country have the possibility of having their own training center and this represents a significant advance for our sport,” he added.

The National Tennis Center will not only be a training place for the best Argentine tennis players, but also a comprehensive education space. The AAT will use the new facilities as a training center and faculty headquarters, promoting the continuous training of coaches and the education of young talents.
