Controversial Antonio Brown continues to attract attention for the wrong reasons off the pitch as he finds himself at the center of allegations of threats against three players from his Arena Football League team, the ‘Albany Empire.
According to ESPN, the 35-year-old brought up the idea of using a gun during a rather heated discussion. His interlocutors demanded an explanation for the Empire’s decision to quickly delete a message in honor of a deceased former teammate.

One of the athletes involved, Darius Prince, described the scene as follows: “AB glanced in the direction of Ryan [Larkin] and said, “hey, you still have the AR [un fusil semi-automatique] in the car? Go get her.” I figured that guy wasn’t going to work after threatening us. Afterwards, things calmed down and we had an interview. ‘He threatened us by asking his deputy to pick up his weapon.’
The league kicked the Empire out of its ranks in June, three months after it was acquired by the ex-wide receiver, as the club fell significantly behind in paying its membership fees.
Brown played his last NFL game in 2021, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They released him after he suddenly took off his equipment in the middle of a match and went to the locker room. Earlier this year, he faced an arrest warrant for failing to pay child support. In recent history, he’s been sued for things like buying unpaid jewelry and had run-ins with a few players, including Tom Brady, whom he’s taken aim at on social media.
