Anderlecht Rejects Burnley’s Offer for Kristian Arnstad as Player Dreams of Premier League

RSC Anderlecht has had a busy end to the summer transfer period. The people of Brussels managed to strengthen themselves even further and welcomed the arrival of Kasper Schmeichel and Thorgan Hazard. On the outgoing side it remained quite quiet.

However, RSCA’s intention seemed to be to get rid of certain players. For example, after having been in the starting eleven in the position of the suspended Anders Dreyer in the previous weeks, Benito Raman was told that he was looking forward to a new employer.

The attacker could also count on the interest of KV Kortrijk and STVV. And negotiations were eventually started with the latter club, but the plug was pulled on the file just before the deadline. So Raman will remain on board for the time being.

Kompany vang bot

And that is also the case with Kristian Arnstad. The Norwegian started the season as the title holder, but has now completely disappeared in the hierarchy and was even left out of the match selection several times. Yet the 19-year-old midfielder continued to play football in Brussels.

However, RSCA had an excellent opportunity to sell Arnstad. It became known that Burnley FC showed concrete interest in the last week of the English mercato. Coach Vincent Kompany’s club is said to have even offered around 60 million Norwegian crowns, or more than 5 million euros.

Premier League-droom

However, the offer was refused by Anderlecht, which Arnstad himself now confirms VG. “The clubs did not find an agreement. But it is of course nice to have such interest. I had been working with Kompany for two years and we had a good relationship,” says the Norwegian.

The midfielder will now have to try to find a place in the purple-white midfield again. But in the long term it remains his intention to take the step to a top competition. “It’s a dream to one day play in the Premier League. However, this time no agreement was reached, so I’m focused on where I am now,” said Arnstad.
