Ana Fernandez Moris y Tamara Silva have one thing in common, their passion for sports related to martial arts, specifically Jiu Jitsu. Both obtained the title of National Master Trainer.

Both athletes belong to the Ourense Judo Club Marbel where, in addition to Judo, activities such as aerobics, maintenance gymnastics or personal defense are taught, among others. Judo and Jiu Jitsu have a fundamental difference and that is that the first does not have a blow and the second is based on short distance and melee impact.

Ana Fernández began in Judo at the age of five, where she became recognized by the Galician Federation. Her constant successes led her to start at the age of seventeen as an assistant to the Judo teacher, from that moment she continues to be linked to this practice. Two years later, at the age of nineteen, she began to practice Jiu Jitsu, becoming the first Galician to be the Spanish champion in 2016. She was recognized as the best Galician Jiu-Jitsuka.

He currently teaches Judo to children, combining it with his sporting side, which last season was interrupted by a knee injury at the end of February in the Spanish Cup.

“It is very gratifying because you see the effort and time you have dedicated. I like children and starting from scratch, from the bottom up, to educate them, teach them and have fun with them”, admits Ana. She has five national medals and now, recovering from her sprain, she has in mind to fight again and repeat the gold .

Tamara Silva, for her part, began in this sport at a more advanced age. “I’ve been here for eleven years, it’s not long because normally people start when they’re little and grow up doing Judo, and I started later, when I was older,” says Silva.

Despite starting in Judoms later than usual, he won the Galician championship and has the gold medal in a Spanish championship and bronze in the Grand Prix of Paris in the Newaza modality, several silver medals in championships. of Spain and national cups.

Currently her ambition for the future is to be called up to the national team to be able to go to the European or World Cup. “We know that it is complicated, we fight with several factors inside and outside the mat, not everything is inside. I made my international leap last year, as I say, the stars aligned for me and I was lucky to be able to bring home a medal”, Tamara agrees.
