The SCR Altach/FFC Vorderland syndicate celebrated a 2-0 win against Sturm Graz in the second round of the women’s Bundesliga on Friday. The women from Vorarlberg are still the leaders with maximum points and an impressive goal difference of 10:0. In front of 826 fans in the Cashpoint Arena, Anna Bereuter (5th) and Vera Marie Ellgaß (8th) scored in the early stages. The women from Graz suffered their first defeat in the second game under Sargon Duran.
“We knew that we needed a top performance here in the ‘Ländle’ to score points. Unfortunately we didn’t make it. Congratulations to Altach, they earned this win and deserved it,” said Duran. This also messed up the dress rehearsal before the start of the Champions League qualification. On Wednesday, in the semi-finals of the 1st qualifying round, we will face Twente Enschede away from home.
