Ahn Se-young (21, Samsung Life Insurance), world number one in badminton women’s singles, swept international competitions held in Korea, China, and Japan.

Se-young Ahn defeated Akane Yamaguchi (Japan) in the women’s singles final of the ‘Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Super 1000 China Open’ held in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China on the 10th. She defeated world No. 2 Yamaguchi with a set score of 2 to 0 (21-10 21-19) in just 38 minutes.

They lifted the trophy again two weeks after the World Championships last month. Ahn Se-young reached the summit for the 9th time this year.

In particular, Ahn Se-young won all open competitions held in badminton powerhouses Korea, China, and Japan. Ahn Se-young won the Korea Open and Japan Open in succession last July, and then she reached the top of the Super 1000 tournament held in China.

Yamaguchi was once called Ahn Se-young’s nemesis, but he was no match for him. Ahn Se-young, who won the first set with a double score, had a close match against Yamaguchi’s counterattack in the second set.

However, in 19 to 19, Ahn Se-young showed his courage, and Yamaguchi’s embarrassed mistake confirmed the win. The gap against the opponent was further reduced to 9 wins and 12 losses.
