Aaron Rodgers Speaks Out on His Career and Recovery After Achilles Tendon Injury

Aaron Rodgers has some news for NFL fans who believe his career is now over.

Five days after the abominable Achilles tendon injury which will end his 2023 season before it is even over, Rodgers spoke Friday in an interview with Pat McAfee Show.

Without being unequivocal about his chances of playing again for the New York Jets at some point this season, in playoff games for example, Rodgers insisted that we should not doubt his abilities.

“Give me your doubts, give me your timelines. Give me everything you think, believe that this will happen or that should happen that. All I need is that extra percentage of motivation. Give me your doubts, your predictions, and watch me do it,” insisted the 39-year-old general.

At the same time, the former Green Bay Packers star refuses to make a promise, knowing full well that he is tackling a tedious fitness process.

“I won’t make one of those statements to you, you know…I don’t feel like it would be fair to myself. As Kevin Garnett once said: ‘Anything is possible!’ »

Usually, rehabilitation after an Achilles tendon tear ranges between 9 and 12 months. Generally speaking, younger athletes recover faster.

For example, in 2021, the Los Angeles Rams running back returned to play only five and a half months after suffering the same injury. Akers, however, was 22 years old when he returned to the lineup.

Rodgers also admitted that he was quite emotional when the anticipated diagnosis became official. In this sense, the former Super Bowl winner, during the 2010 season, displayed his vulnerability.

“These 24 hours have been the most trying of my life. I was already quite emotional (Editor’s note: when we told him that his season was over). When Cobbie (Randall Cobb) walked into the room, I flinched,” he admitted.

The Jets (1-0) will visit the Dallas Cowboys (1-0) after signing a victory despite Rodgers’ early departure last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
