ROMAN CASTLES (events) – The two-day event in Bergamo is organized by the Network of Networks, a national movement of cooperation between library systems which brings together more than 6 thousand libraries throughout Italy

The cultural value of the “BIC – Libraries – Innovation – Community” festival, which will be held on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September in Bergamo – a city which this year together with Brescia is the Italian Capital of Culture – has also been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, which granted its patronage and hosted the presentation press conference in Rome, in the Spadolini Room, a well-attended event, which took place in the late morning of yesterday 11 September 2023.
The Undersecretary for Culture Vittorio Sgarbi spoke at the opening of the event: “I owe my whole life, my activity and my happiness to books. I can only be happy to introduce an initiative that talks about books, culture, reading and libraries”. “I hope you get drunk on books!”.
Also present was a representation of the Municipalities of the Castelli Romani: the City of Albano Laziale with the councilor for culture Maria Cristina Casella, the Municipality of Lanuvio with the President of the City Council and delegate for Culture Alessandro De Santis, the President of the City Council of Frascati Corrado Spagnoli, representing all 17 member municipalities of the SCR Consortium.
The two-day event in Bergamo is organized by the Network of Networks, a national movement of cooperation between library systems which brings together more than 6 thousand libraries throughout Italy: 24 library networks, 445 municipalities, for a catchment area of around 7 million citizens. The Castelli Romani System will be present with the President, Giuseppe de Righi, President in Office of the Network of Networks.
