Wiener Neustadt equalizes against Dornbirn to 1:1. Next weekend the decision will be made as to who will make it into the final.
The Diving Ducks Wr. Neustadt clearly won the second semi-final game at the Dornbirn Indians and thus equalized in the “best-of-five” semi-final series. Eight runs in the second inning brought an early preliminary decision on Sunday.
After the false start of the regular season winner the day before, the Diving Ducks struck back less than 24 hours later, which is worth seeing. Especially in the second inning, the offensive of the Lower Austrians could not be stopped by the Indians pitchers Shotaro Usui and Kruno Gojovic. Eoghan McGarry provided the highlight of this segment with a 2-RBI home run. Ducks pitcher Rick van Dijck completed a sovereign encounter and did not let the Indians get back into the game. Closer Kyle Poabst also kept his nerve and a strong eighth inning on offense finally secured a 18:4 win to equalize the series.
After the two games in Dornbirn, there are now up to three clashes in Wr. Neustadt on the program. The team that wins two of these players first is in the finals of the Baseball Bundesliga.
