Who is Jeff Adler, the Canadian voted “fittest man in the world”?

Gone are the days when Jeffrey Adler took his first steps at the CrossFit Games.

It was in 2016 and he was a volunteer for loading and unloading athletes’ equipment!

He had then promised himself that one day he would return there, and that it would be to compete and win a medal.

Chose promise, chose due.

This year, Jeff won the victory and won the title of the fittest man in the world, quite simply.

Discover the profile of this extraordinary sportsman with an iron will.

The 2023 CrossFit Games Champion

Just a few days ago, Jeffrey Adler was crowned world champion of the CrossFit Games, one of the most prestigious competitions on the planet, championship so far mainly won by the Americans.

The québécois 29 years old (born in 1994) has therefore been able to impose itself in every sense of the word.

Indeed, everything starts with the qualification phases which represent nearly 300,000 participants from all over the world to confront each other.

Jeff arrives first, thus widely distinguishing himself.

As the events progressed, Adler imposed himself and found himself facing some of the fiercest competitors, with a long track record and whom he had idolized and admired so far.

That is to say, men and women who have already participated in Olympic competitions in weightlifting, gymnastics, running or cycling, crossfit being a discipline requiring many skills and bringing together various specialties.

4 days of intensive competition

This competition is divided into a series of 12 grueling trials and spread over 4 days, with 3 tests per day.

However, everything did not start under the best auspices for the Quebecer.

Indeed, at the end of the first day and after the completion of the first three events, he doesn’t even finish in the top 10and had, moreover, a hundred points behind compared to Roman Khrennikovthen leader.

He reboosted and climbed the slope on the second day.

He then won the victory in one of the events and ranked in the top 10 in the other two.

A very positive record, but which still does not allow him to catch up with the American Khrennikov, who is still ahead of him by 100 points.

Arriving in the middle of the course, it seems almost impossible for Jeffrey Adler to achieve victory, because even if he gives his maximum, his biggest adversary does not give up and accumulates the points.

What follows is difficult.

He then decides to change tactics and leave aside his ranking objectives by only aiming to win as many points as possible per event, in order to fill the gap which separates him from the leader.

A strategy that pays since at the end of the third day, only 13 points separate him from Khrennikov.

On the fourth and final day, the roles are reversed. Adler triumphs in the first test and thus leads the dance.

On his side, his opponent breaks his foot and sees his morale plummet. Two events later, the Canadian is crowned champion of the CrossFit Games 2023.

His training, a full-time job

If you plan to dethrone Jeffrey at the next crossfits, you’re going to have to quit your job and go all out.

Indeed, the champion explains that his training is a full-time job since he trains 5 to 7 hours a dayall spread over 2 sessions.

Indeed, in the morning, he trains for three to four hours.

He then leaves to eat and rest with a refreshing nap, before training for several hours at the end of the day.

He also declares in an interview that the training certainly takes time, but that in reality, his physical preparation impacts all aspects of his lifefrom his meals to his recovery times.

His life therefore revolves around his training, diet and sleep, leaving little room for other hobbies.

The advantage in all this is that his gym membership does not cost him too much since since 2017 he owns with his wife a “gym” based in Montreal and responding to the sweet name of CrossFit Wonderland.

He is married to his sports coach

If you are wondering how it is possible to devote a little time to your private life when you have a sports schedule as busy as Jeff’s, and how this woman is not fed up with seeing him devote all his time at the gym rather than her, it’s very simple, he chose his sports coach for his wife.

So this explains it. The two lovebirds were also married in September 2022.

Their beautiful love story is therefore an intertwined private life and professional life.

She is his trainer, but also his biggest supporter. Together they form a solid team that together takes up the challenges of a competitive sporting career and shares the same dream of victory.

The latter had tears in her eyes when her husband was voted the fittest man in the world.

A joint victory for them, because even though Adler wins the cup, his wife has been by his side every step of the way through many years of training.

His nutrition plan

When practicing crossfit at such a high and intense level, the body, and therefore nutrition, are key factors for success.

On the food side, like all athletes in the discipline, Jeff Adler only eats a wide variety of healthy foods. On the other hand, he does not skimp on the quantities.

It is therefore the winning combo to avoid body fat and to fill up on energy in order to ensure physical training.

In its very specific regime, the rules are as follows:

Filling up on fruits and vegetables; Avoid excessive amounts of refined carbohydrates; Measure your consumption of proteins, lipids and carbohydrates; Prioritize nuts and seeds; No (or very very little) difference.

A hard-working, ambitious and determined athlete

The Canadian athlete was successful and won the gold medal at the 2023 CrossFit Games.

But you have to know thathe had previously already participated in the CrossFit Games 5 timeswithout ever succeeding in getting on the podium.

He had, in fact, finished 5th in the ranking in 2020 and 2022.

However, Adrian Bozman, the director of the competition, has been able to observe its progress over the years and explains that, according to him, the secret of its success is thathe knows his weaknesses and really takes the time to work on it in the off-seasons.

Reinvigorated by this recent victory, Jeffrey Adler does not intend to stop there, since he declares that he intends to further improve his performance, and that after having won a gold medal, he wishes for a second!
