Vincent Kompany’s Burnley remains scoreless even after 2 games in the Premier League. On Sunday afternoon, Burnley lost 1-3 to Aston Villa in front of their own audience.
Vincent Kompany dropped acquisition Hannes Delcroix into the base for the home team, but it was not a pleasant debut for the young Belgian. After barely 20 minutes, Burnley was already 0-2 indebted, each time Matthew Cash was the culprit.
Early in the 2nd half, ex-Westerlo player Lyle Foster signed for the connecting goal. With half a volley, the South African gave his team hope again. That was already suppressed fifteen minutes later when Diaby took care of the 1-3. In the last half hour, Burnley was unable to rectify that lopsided situation.
Burnley starts the season with a 0 to 6, next weekend another difficult assignment awaits with the arrival of Tottenham.
