VIDEO ⟩ The Latvian duo won the sport fishing competition “Garmin Predator Cup”

In the competition, 174 participants in 87 crews from Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine competed, fishing for the three longest pike, zander and perch in the Daugava, Ķīšezer, Lielai and Mazāi Baltezer, Jugla lake, Lielupe and other waters of Pierīga.

The representatives of the “Asakainie” team Marinaki and Švarnovičs won with 124 points, the second place was taken by “Fish Hunters” with Guntars Lochmani and Ruslan Semyonov, while the third place was won by last year’s second place winners “Ar Makšķkeri”/”Makskerlietas.lv” Toms Klabis and Janis Zarins. The winners of the tournament won the main prize worth 30,000 euros – “Vizion” aluminum boat.

After the first day of the competition, the first three places were taken by “Asakainie”, “Fish Hunters” and “S&D Fishing” (Sergej Bibichev, Dmitry Apollonov). The winners of the first two places also managed to keep their position on the second day with a very stable performance, and in the middle of the day, “Asakainie” got the second metric pike.

During the two days, no other crew managed to catch a single pike longer than one meter. The longest perch of the competition (44 centimeters) was caught by the third place winners Klabis and Zariņš, but the longest zander (74 centimeters) belonged to last year’s third place winners of the crew “Lucky John” – Ruslan Baranov and Aleksandar Zaretski, who finished 17th in this year’s competition.

Both in terms of the number of participants and the prize fund, which will be 40,000 euros, this was the biggest sports fishing event in the Baltics.

In October of this year, the world championship in spinning from boats will also be held in Riga.
