In March 2019, her name gained more popularity, after the Oakland Athletics hired her as one of their coaches. He was offered the chance to groom his players at catcher during the organization’s spring training in Mesa, Arizona.

Álvarez, who is also a firefighter-paramedic, according to Hola magazine, “at the end of her career as a professional player, she continued to use her baseball talents to train a new generation in the MLB Trailblazer Series from 2017 to 2019, and in the MLB Girls Baseball Breakthrough Series Showcase & Development Camp, in 2018 and 2019.

“She became the first woman to be named Rod Dedeaux Coach of the Year, for her work in charge of the women’s national team in 2019.”

She was also the manager of the American cast that participated from July 28 to August 1, 2022, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in a friendly series against Canada.
