Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner played five sets in the quarterfinals last year.

Like last year, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner could meet for the young classic in the quarter-finals. The second possible quarter-final in the upper half of the draw would also have its explosive side: Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev would be the match-up of the two top seeded players in this quarter. Accordingly, the two winners of these games would contest the semi-finals.

In the lower half, the Scandinavian quarterfinals between Holger Runde and Casper Ruud would be possible. Rune could meet Alexander Bublik or Dominic Thiem in the third round. Certainly not an easy game for the Dane. The last quarter-final would be the encounter between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic. Djokovic has won the last ten meetings against the Greek. Certainly still a match worth seeing, should both actors cross swords in the quarterfinals.

Alexander Zverev at Alcaraz and Sinner

For Alexander Zverev, who meets Aleksandar Vukic in the first round, the subsequent course of the tournament could entail a real mammoth task: Daniel Altmaier, Grigor Dimitrov, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic would be the crowning glory of the tournament tree. The assumption of eliminating these opponents one after the other seems unimaginable.
