Transfers: Ruslan Malinovski wants to return to Atalanta but OM have an agreement with Genoa

Set aside by OM since the return from the internship in Germany at the end of July, Ruslan Malinovski hopes to return to Italy by the end of the month. The 30-year-old Ukrainian international refused to go to Besiktas, who made a paying loan offer to Marseille, and he clearly favors Serie A.

If Torino, Bologna and Monza have approached OM in the past two weeks, one club tickles him a little more: his former team, Atalanta, where he played from July 2019 to January 2023, and which had transferred him at OM last winter. His family is there, he is ready to wait for the last days of the transfer window to find this adopted land, he who has never really integrated in Provence.

OM do not want to haggle with Atalanta

This aspiration will not be easy to achieve. OM do not particularly want to send their player on loan to Atalanta. This club gave him no gift during past negotiations, again recently on the Joakim Maehle file, who left for transfer to Wolfsburg while the Marseille management was building a loan with an obligation to buy for the Danish side.

Another major pitfall: Malinovski’s relationship with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, which had deteriorated before his departure at the last transfer window.

Another club could benefit from this situation: Genoa, promoted to Serie A. The Italian club agrees with OM, it remains to convince the player now. Discussions are ongoing.
