The transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are right in the middle of it. Clubs can sign new players until September 1st.

The most important things at a glance

Who does BVB get? Can Eintracht Frankfurt make the successful mini upheaval? And with which team does Schalke want to get promoted again? These and many other questions will be answered in this transfer summer. At t-online there is an overview of the most important rumors and changes from Germany and the world.

Eintracht Frankfurt brings BVB talent

Frankfurt has signed top talent Nnamdi Collins from Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old defender has a contract with the Hessian Bundesliga club until June 30, 2028, as Eintracht announced on Wednesday.

“Nnamdi Collins is one of the most promising German talents in his position. We have a clear long-term plan with Nnamdi and we are pleased that he has chosen us and our path,” said Eintracht sporting director Timmo Hardung.

Collins became German A-Junior champions with BVB last year and captained the U19s to the final last season. Born in Düsseldorf, he has played a total of 15 international matches for the German U15 to U19 teams.

Hertha goalkeeper Christensen moves to Italy

Goalkeeper Oliver Christensen from second division team Hertha BSC is playing first class again in the new season. The 24-year-old Dane is moving to Fiorentina. According to media reports, the transfer fee should be up to six million euros.

While the economically ailing club can make good use of the money, Hertha coach Pal Dardai faces a tricky task. Christensen had guarded the goal of the Bundesliga relegated team in the two 0-1 defeats in Düsseldorf and against Wehen Wiesbaden. Of the six goalkeepers in the squad at the start of the season, only three remain. Marius Gersbeck has been suspended until further notice after an incident at the training camp in Austria. Alexander Schwolow was transferred to local rivals Union Berlin.

The juniors Tjark Ernst (20), Robert Kwasigroch (19) and Tim Goller (18) are available. Ernst had shown a good performance in the last Bundesliga game in the 2-1 win at VfL Wolfsburg in the previous season, which Dardai had also praised at the time.

Report: Pavard in talks with Manchester United

Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is said to be in concrete negotiations with Manchester United, according to a media report. According to Sky information on Wednesday, the Premier League club and the French international are currently working on an oral agreement.

Manchester may be looking to replace England international Harry Maguire, who is reportedly on the verge of a Premier League move to West Ham United.

Fix: Hoffenheim brings top scorers back to the Bundesliga

A top-class player returns to the Bundesliga: TSG Hoffenheim have signed striker Wout Weghorst. The club posted a video on Wednesday morning presenting the Dutchman as a newcomer. There had already been speculation about Weghorst moving to TSG. As the Kraichgauer announced, the 31-year-old comes on loan from Premier League promoted FC Burnley for a year.

“I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I describe this transfer as remarkable and extraordinary. In any case, it is for us,” said TSG Managing Director Alexander Rosen. They promise “a boost for the entire team from his mentality, experience and accuracy”.

Weghorst had already played in the top German division for VfL Wolfsburg from 2018 to 2022 and scored 70 goals in 144 games for Lower Saxony. Burnley paid 17.5 million for the attacker, who was on loan at Manchester United for the second half of last season. Weghorst still has a contract with Burnley until 2025.
