Torreño Cándido Osorio Wins Silver in Badminton at World Police and Fire Games

The Torreño Cándido Osorio has been proclaimed runner-up in the badminton modality of the World Police and Fire Games (World Police & Fire Games- WPFG), which have been held in Winnipeg (Canada). Osorio, a player from the Badminton Las Torres club, won the silver in the +60 individual category.

Police and firefighters from more than 70 countries around the world participated in this sports event, with some 8,500 athletes competing in more than 60 sports between July 31 and August 6. A tournament where several members of Badminton Las Torres stayed at the gates of the podium: Luis Castillo (+40), Antonio Brao (+50) and Antonio Jesús Rodríguez (+50).

“In the European games, Cándido was already gold and silver in 2016, and silver in 2018. In addition, he has also won numerous regional and national medals in other championships, which shows the great level of our countryman. He is an example of passion for sport and wherever he goes he shows it, as well as his love for Las Torres de Cotillas. Congratulations on this great achievement”, says the Councilor for Sports, Francisco José Torres.
