The seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady, has become a minority owner of English Birmingham City and will be the president of its new advisory board, the club announced Thursday.
According to the statement, Brady will work with his sports science department, as well as the board of directors and management team.in “global marketing efforts and identifying new business partnership opportunities.”
The 46-year-old retired NFL quarterback partnered with Knighthead Capital Management to become a minority owner of the club, which finished 17th in the Championship last season.
“Tom Brady joining the Birmingham City team is quite a statement. We are setting the bar for world class. Tom is investing and committing his time and extensive experience“President Tom Wagner said in a statement.

Brady described City, who last played in the top flight, the Premier League, in 2011, as an “iconic club”.
“I’ve been part of some incredible teams in my time, and I’m looking forward to applying my perspective to create that same success here in Birmingham,” Brady said.
Brady has been busy off the field since his retirement. He was introduced as the new owner of a celebrity team in the E1 World Championship, the new competition for electric racing boats.
He has also acquired a stake in the Las Vegas AcesWNBA team.
