MADRID, 5 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish cyclist Maurice Eckhard hung this Saturday the silver medal in scratch of the Para-cycling World Championship that is taking place within the ‘Super World Cup’ of cycling in Glasgow (Scotland).

Eckhard added the second metal for Spain after the one achieved by Ricardo Ten in pursuit at the Chris Hoy velodrome on Thursday. The Catalan, who was already a world champion, achieved a new medal with a movement at the right moment together with the Frenchman Chapeau, who in the end took the gold, making a difference.

On the other hand, Alfonso Cabello, current Paralympic champion of the kilometer time trial, began his competition signing fourth place in the qualifying with a time of 1:05.234. Already in the afternoon session, the Cordovan was unable to improve his morning record and with 1:05.514 he was in fourth position.

Ricardo Ten for his part achieved a fourth place in the classification and improved his time in the fight for the medals but was left out of the podium. The other fourth position of the day was Eduardo Santas, despite being impaired by a virus, in scratch.

On the other hand, in the Cycling World Cup, Helena Casas competed in keirin looking for her opportunity, but after being third in the playoffs she was eliminated. Meanwhile, Alejandro Martínez, who arrived at the event trying to squeeze his Olympic options, failed to pass the speed qualifier by finishing in 32nd place.
