The Saint-Bruno Minor Baseball Association Plans Exciting Events to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

The Saint-Bruno Minor Baseball Association (ABMSB) is planning activities to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Baseball Saint-Bruno and the City of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville will offer an evening of baseball to the entire community on Friday, September 1 at Parc Rabastalière. “For an organization like ours to reach 50 years, it’s a sign that there were people in the past who had an interest, who got involved, who participated in this success. For us, today is an opportunity to do something different,” explained ABMSB President David Trépanier.

The 4 Knights also called the “Harlem Globetrotters of softball” will be in town and will face the 50th anniversary team of the Blue Sox which will be made up of coaches from the association. “It was originally called Les 4 Chevaliers O’Keefe,” says Mr. Trépanier. They travel across Quebec and put on a show. It’s funny, playful. They do sporting prowess on the field and they are good. It’s impossible to beat them! “These are four players from Quebec and they tour in different regions. They play as much against players from former Expos, against semi-professional players, ”adds Guy Aubé, vice-president and director of communications at Baseball Saint-Bruno. He adds, “We put together a special team of very good players from the Association to play against them. »

“This is an event that will bring together more than the local population. It is a regional event. – Guy Aube

There will also be a canteen, music and much more. “This is an event that will bring together more than the local population. It’s a regional event,” explains Mr. Aubé. The mayor of Saint-Bruno, Ludovic Grisé Farand, will be present to make a formal launch for the opening of the game. The 4 Knights show is free. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and the baseball game will take place at 7 p.m. David Trépanier expects many people to attend the event. He estimates between 400 and 800 people. Platforms will be added to welcome visitors. However, he recommends that people bring their own chair.

special activity

Last spring, the Association hosted members of the Toronto Blue Jays professional baseball team as part of “Baseball Academy Day”. This allowed more than fifty children from Saint-Bruno and the surrounding area to participate in a day of baseball with professionals. “It was a very special event to highlight the association’s 50th anniversary,” said the vice-president.

New logo

To commemorate the 50th anniversary, Baseball Saint-Bruno unveiled its new logo on April 1st. It wasn’t an April Fool’s joke. The logo emphasizes the years 1973 and 2023 and reminds us that Baseball Saint-Bruno has been around for 50 years. This logo, which was created by graphic designer Émilie Brisson, a former employee of the newspaper Les Versants, can be found on the caps and uniforms of players during the 2023 season. “To promote baseball in Saint-Bruno . It’s a question of visibility, of a sense of belonging, of pride too, for all the young people who wear this logo”, expresses the president of the sports entity.
