The NBA Introduces In-Season Tournament in 2023-24: Los Angeles Lakers’ Schedule Revealed

The NBA is a league that has modified its competition over the years, such as the recent addition of the play-in before the playoffs, and now, in the 2023-24 campaign, it will have its first In-Season Tournament.

The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James, are one of the most important franchises in the entire league and they are part of Group A of the Western Conference and their rivals are the Memphis Grizzlies, the Phoenix Suns, the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers.

The NBA’s 30 teams were divided into six groups of five teams based on the previous regular season record. The groups of each conference were defined after the franchises were divided into five pots in which they were placed from 1 to 3, from 4 to 6, from 6 to 9, from 10 to 12 and from 13 to 15.

To avoid a lack of intensity, the new NBA collective agreement establishes that the players of the teams that reach the quarterfinals of the In-Season Tournament will win $50,000 each and the prizes increase progressively. Semifinalist squads will win $100,000. Finally, the mid-season tournament champions will get half a million and the second place basketball players will receive 200 thousand.

Lakers games at the Crypto.com Arena of the In-Season Tournament

The Lakers’ home In-Season Tournament matches at Crypto.com Arena will be against the Grizzlies (November 14, 7:30 PM PT) and the Trail Blazers (November 17, 7:00 PM PT). The matchup against Memphis looks like the most exciting slot, even though Ja Morant will most likely not be a part due to his suspension.

Lakers away games in the In-Season Tournament

The away games of the team led by LeBron will take place on November 10, against the Suns, and on the 21st of the same month against the Utah Jazz. Both games against Phoenix at the Footprint Center and Utah at the Vivint Smart Home Arena begin at 7:00 PM PT.

Something important to consider is that of the four Lakers games, only the commitments outside the Crypto.com Arena will be broadcast nationally. The duel against the Suns will be broadcast on ESPN and against the Jazz will be on TNT.
