The Indonesia Arena Receives Excellent Security Assessment for FIBA World Cup 2023

The Indonesia Arena will host the FIBA ​​World Cup 2023 starting August 25. This arena is considered very good for holding an event from a security assessment.

The assessment was carried out by the Directorate of Vital Object Security (Pamobvit) Polda Metro Jaya. Indonesia Arena received an excellent predicate from the Risk Management Assessment System (SMP) risk assessment.

“We have carried out an assessment of the Indonesia Arena for two days and got very good results,” said Kompol Hadi Susanto in a written statement provided by the LOC, on Thursday (17/8/2023).

It was noted that there were six aspects included in the assessment which was carried out on August 14-15, chaired by Kompol Hadi Susanto. These include aspects of infrastructure, health, competition risk, security risk in security, safety and information management systems.

Specifically for infrastructure aspects, a small note is given which is suggested to be fulfilled. For example, adding direction signs and nameplates, as well as adding CCTV at several points. Then socialization to the audience and strengthening of SOPs in anticipating emergency conditions.

Perfect scores are given for health, competition risk and information. Everything that was used as a reference by the assessment team had been fulfilled properly by LOC to hold the 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup. Indonesia Arena received the title of Very Good with a total score of 91.56 percent.

Head of the FIBA ​​World Cup 2023 LOC Budisatrio Djiwandono appreciated the results of the assessment. According to him, LOC’s hard work to perfect the Indonesia Arena so that it is worthy of holding a big event like the FIBA ​​World Cup has paid off with this very good title.

“I thank all of the LOC, especially the friends who are responsible for the venue, for their hard work so far. This assessment from Ditpamobvit has motivated all of us to be even more enthusiastic about working to complete the FIBA ​​World Cup 2023 activities successfully,” said Budi.

Indonesia, which co-hosted the Philippines and Japan, was assigned to stage matches from Group G and Group H. Group G consisted of Iran, Spain, Ivory Coast, Brazil while Group H consisted of Canada, Latvia, Lebanon, France.

In total there are 20 matches that will be presented at the Indonesia Arena. Consists of 12 group phase matches followed by four matches in the second group round (Group L). The two best teams from Group L will qualify for the quarter-finals, which will take place in Manila, Philippines.

Then there are still four classification or ranking matches, which will be followed by the four third and fourth ranked teams in Groups G and H. Of all the matches scheduled to be held at the Indonesia Arena, the France vs Canada party has certainly sold out tickets.
