The intense heat in Budapest has led to a program change at the World Championships in Athletics. As the world association announced on Tuesday, the women’s heats over 5,000 meters were moved from morning to evening on Wednesday. After a storm at the start last Saturday, temperatures in Budapest have risen to over 30 degrees every day since then.
In the second half of the World Cup, some endurance competitions are planned. On Thursday, the walkers will compete over 35 kilometers. The women’s marathon is scheduled for Saturday, followed by the men’s marathon on Sunday. The starting time is 7:00 a.m. Then the temperatures are only about 20 degrees, but the humidity is currently always very high.
