Valentino Valdivia is the first from Arequipa to qualify in judo for the Pan American Games in Chile
In an epic event Valentino Valdivia Moreno, in judo, is the first from Arequipa to qualify for the most important competition in America. This is the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games that will take place in Chile between October 20 and November 5.
At 18 years old, the athlete, whose level I and II federated coach is Dante Saldarriaga Chanduvi, will represent Peru again in + 100 kg, but in seniors.
Obtaining the gold medal in the Pan American Open and the silver medal in the Pan American Cup with the bicolor in Lima opened the doors to this challenge.
Valentino is on the list of the national team that was updated by the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation, chaired by sensei María Martínez Murciego, and is in the hands of the members of the technical command made up of sensei Justo Noda (of Cuban nationality), Angelo Acosta, Luis Angeles and Jesus Gavidia. The youngest of the team has already been training in La Videna with the team, which has the ranked: Juan Miguel Postigos (-66 kg), Alonso Wong (-73 kg), Yuta Galarreta (-90 kg) and Daryl Yamamoto (- 100kg).
And in ladies there are the exponents: Brillith Gamarra (-48 kg), Marian Flores (-57 kg), Camila Figueroa (-78 kg) and Yuliana Bolívar (+78 kg).
