The Dutchman Lavreysen mastered the sprint at the fifth World Track Championships in a row

Lavreysen, who has two golds (sprint and team sprint) and a bronze (keirin) from the last Olympics in Tokyo, already triumphed in Scotland as a member of the Dutch team, which surpassed the Australians in the team sprint final. He added another success when he beat Nicholas Paul of Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in the final today.

The star Dutchman rules this discipline at the World Championships already in 2019. He only needs one gold to equal the record holder of the World Track Championships, which is the Frenchman Arnaud Tournaut with 14 triumphs. Lavreysen has 13 gold and three silver medals in the sprint, team sprint and keirin. On Tuesday, he will also be at the start of the keirin in Glasgow.

In the elimination race, the best was the British Ethan Vernon, who won before the Canadian Dylan Bibic. Third was the Italian Elia Viviani, who successfully combines the track with the road. Czech representative Denis Rugovac took 19th place.

Britain also celebrated a triumph in the women’s madison, in which Neah Evans and Elinor Barker won. Petra Ševčíková and Kateřina Kohoutková took 15th place.

Veronika Jaborníková was the last to advance from the 28th place of the sprint qualification, but then in the 1st round she was overtaken by the favorite Emma Hinzeová from Germany and she was significantly faster than the Czech runner.
