The best Punta Alava basket will return to Vitoria on the eve of the Fiestas de la Blanca. This Thursday, August 3, representatives of the discipline will participate in the Blusa eta Neska Jai Alai tournament. The event, presented this Tuesday, will host the most prominent representatives of the province of this sport.
The Frontón Olave will be the epicenter of the activity from 7:00 p.m. Admission will be free, although all the proceeds from raffles and the will of the attendees will go to the Ascudean, the Association of caring families and dependent people. The solidarity component of an event that also seeks to enhance the presence of the punta basket in Álava.
The event highlights the presence of two of the most international representatives of the province. Julen del Rio and Aaron González de Matauco will not fail. Del Río, a defender, is one of the Álava provinces in contention to compete in the next World Cup of the discipline. González de Matauco is a forward and, despite his youth, he has also managed to prove himself in major tournaments on the circuit. They will form a couple to face the duo formed by Goitia and Manci. The first is a striker from Markina who stands out for his talent, while the second will come from Mutriku.
Although they will not be the only protagonists. Another of Álava’s references, Maite Ortiz de Mendibil, will not miss the event either, prior to her participation in the U22 World Cup in Mexico. She will pair up with Maialen to face the Ihart-Eneritz duo, who come from Sopela and Mutriku, respectively.
