The 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile will become the worldwide competition that will grant more places for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
There will be 21 sports that will give the long-awaited password for athletes from the American Continent and Mexico will take advantage of the Chilean event to try to qualify the largest number of athletes for the French Olympians.
The disciplines that will give the passwords will be: boxing, handball, breaking, diving, equestrian competitions (dressage, complete event and jumping), sport climbing, rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, trampoline gymnastics, as well as field hockey, water polo, pentathlon modern, artistic swimming, surfing, tennis, table tennis, archery and sailing.

In Santiago 2023, other sports disciplines will not give a direct pass to the Olympic Games of paris 2024but they will award points for the Olympic ranking, which will be very important because it will largely depend on which athletes from which country will be able to benefit from these units and thus access the Summer Fair in France.
There will be 12 sports disciplines that will not deliver the password, but the Olympic points will be: swimming, taekwon do, athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, BMX freestyle, BMX race, mountain, track and road biking, triathlon and weight lifting.

Due to the quality of its athletes, recent achievements, ranking and Olympic and world history, Mexico would seek its places for Paris 2024 in sports such as archery with Alejandra Valencia, Aída Román and Ángela Ruiz, athletics with Alegna González and Paola Morán, diving where there is strong internal competition and for now 6 Olympic tickets have been secured, in addition to taekwon do where the country recently did very badly in the World Cup of the specialty, but there is a lot of talent and even the Mexican delegation aspires to cover the 4 places to which each country is entitled.
Although TKD, diving and archery are the sports in which Mexico has a real chance of transcending in Paris 2024, some surprise is not ruled out (as has happened in recent Olympic Games) in sports such as cycling, modern pentathlon, athletics, artistic gymnastics and boxing.
So far, the Aztec delegation has 11 Olympic places, 6 in diving, 3 in athletics, one in swimming and one more in cycling.
The 2023 Santiago de Chile Pan American Games will take place from October 20 to November 5 and the Parapan American Games will be from November 17 to 26.
Around 9 thousand athletes from 41 countries of the American Continent are expected.
