The 12th Edition of ‘Ciudad de Almería’ Judo Campus Attracts Judo Athletes from Across Spain

The 12th edition of the ‘Ciudad de Almería’ Judo Campus has brought together one hundred thirty athletes and a total of twelve different clubs this year, thus making Almería once again a meeting point for judokas from all over Spain.

“This stage is always an excellent set-up for the start of the season”, explained León Granda, sports director of Alianza KSV, organizer of a campus that has had for another year the collaboration of the Municipal Sports Board, Provincial Council of Almería and Junta de Andalucía.

A campus this year that has been developed between August 25 and 28, where six training sessions have been held, of two hours each, divided into morning and afternoon hours. The participants of this edition trained in the Antonio Rivera Pavilion and have stayed at the Inturjoven hostel.

Granda has highlighted “the presence of representatives from all over Spain, and with a more than remarkable number of national and international medalists. A real luxury ”, she pointed out. For the sports director of Alianza KSV “the campus is fully consolidated. It has been growing with the passing of the seasons, in number of judoka and club participants. In particular, I want to thank the participation and involvement of Oscar Peñas, who has set direction and criteria for this project for several years now”, he thanked

An extensive thank you to the collaborating administrations and to the athletes themselves “who on dates that are not always easy give their souls to this sport, judo. It has been four days of a lot of work, but also of learning, in methodology and training techniques”
