Spanish Archers Fall Short at World Cup in Berlin, Despite Strong Performances

The Spanish archery delegation ended its participation in the World Cup that is taking place in Berlin on Thursday, with the defeats in the round of 16 of Elia Canales and Pablo Acha at the hands of the potential South Korean An San and Je-deok Kim.

After a fateful day on Wednesday, with the eliminations of the men’s, women’s and mixed recurve archery teams, things were no better for individuals despite the good performances of Canales and Acha in the Olympic discipline.

The Catalan was close to eliminating the triple Olympic medalist in Tokyo 2020, but gave in a tight 5-6. Meanwhile, the man from Burgos could not surprise the favorite Kim either. Both signed the best Spanish result, after Canales eliminated Irati Unamunzaga in the previous round 6-5, the defeat in the first round of Leyre Fernández and, in the second, of Andrés Temiño.
