Simeone’s son seriously injured after a wild tackle in a friendly match

Julian Simeonone of the sons of the coach of Atlético de Madrid, suffered one serious injury this Sunday in the last friendly of the preseason ofAlabès. The striker, on loan from the white-and-red club after renewing his contract until 2028, had scored his first goal in the shirt of the Basque team against Burgos, but shortly afterwards suffered a criminal entry.

In the final stretch of the match, already in the 85th minute, the local defender Matos ‘he hunted’ Giuliano from behind in the middle of the field in a move without apparent danger. The images that followed were terrifying: the striker was left with his leg hanging, probably with a broken ankle. The crowd and nearby footballers put their hands to their heads with Simeone’s cries of pain.

Ambulance and suspension

The match was stopped and there was a moment of tussle between the two teams. Twenty minutes after the action, the ambulance entered the pitch and ended up taking Giuliano away. The severity of the injury was such that the match ended with the score 2-1 in favor of Burgos, despite the fact that there were five minutes left in added time.

The Victorian club sent messages of encouragement to their footballer, waiting to know the exact results of the tests. Simeone’s son stood out last season at Zaragoza, a club where he played 36 games and scored 9 goals. With Alabès he was preparing for his debut in Primera, but now he will be out of action for several months.
