Sevilla FC fell to Deportivo Alaves (4-3) while Rayo Vallecano went on to triumph in Granada (2-0).
Sevilla can’t do it. José Luis Mendilibar’s men are starting the 2023/2024 season very difficultly as the previous one had been, this time with two early defeats. Defeated at home against Valencia last week for their debut, the Andalusians conceded a new defeat, on the ground of Deportivo Alaves (4-3) on Monday.

But shortly before halftime (44th) Duarte unleashed a heavy strike from the left to deceive Dimitrovic and send the two teams to the locker room at 2-2.
After the break, Alaves completely dominated the proceedings, making the break at 4-2 quickly with the two achievements of Kike Garcia (54th and 59th) who arrived this summer free from Osasuna. The superb reduction in the gap of Rafa Mir (90 + 7) after a cannon shot did not change anything. Sevilla are 18th after two rounds.
The Rayo in control in Granada
