Derek Carr made his debut as quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and did so with a win (27-24) against the Kansas City Chiefs, current NFL champions. The one who did not debut was Jimmy Garoppolo, who stayed on the Raiders’ bench, in the first game of the preseason.
Carr lived up to the hype his arrival generated. In the only offensive he had in his power, the quarterback The 30-year-old wasted no time in guiding the Saints to their first score of the game.
