The San Francisco 49ers have traded Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
In return, the Texan team would give a 4th round pick. Dallas will owe the quarterback $940,000 this season and $5.3 million in 2024.
On Wednesday, the Californian club chose Sam Darnold as number 2 behind Brock Purdy.
Weeks before the 2021 draft was held, the 49ers traded three first-round picks to the Miami Dolphins for the third-round pick in the first round. They used this one to select Lance.
The quarterback has played eight games so far in the NFL, including four as a starter. He completed 54.9% of the passes he attempted for 797 yards and five touchdowns. He was also the victim of three interceptions. The 23-year-old also had 235 yards and a major on 54 carries.
