Rugby World Cup: injured, will Jonathan Danty be able to play against the All Blacks?

His physical impact still wreaked havoc on Sunday against Australia. But the center three-quarters of the XV of France Jonathan Danty could miss the opening match of the World Cup, Friday, September 8, against the All Blacks. The La Rochelle player is indeed suffering from a hamstring injury contracted against the Wallabies at the Stade de France this weekend.

A new examination of his muscle damage must be done the week before the meeting against the New Zealanders, while the Blues meet this Saturday to settle in their hotel in Rueil-Malmaison after five days of rest. If sources within the France team explain that the absence of Danty against the New Zealanders is not yet confirmed, several media claim that the package is recorded.

A significant potential loss for the Blues, and above all a new absence which would force Fabien Galthié to change his plans. The tricolor coach, deprived of his opener Romain Ntamack for the whole of the competition, must also do without his left pillar Cyril Baille and his third line Anthony Jelonch, present in the list of 33 French for the World Cup but unavailable for the match against the All Blacks.

Moefana in his place in the event of a package against New Zealand?

Jonathan Danty, 30, has played the last three preparation meetings for the XV of France against Scotland, Fiji and Australia, including the last two in full. Against the Wallabies, the former Stade Français player scored the first of four French tries in the match and weighed on the Australian defense.

To replace him against the New Zealanders where he was to start in the center with Gaël Fickou, the staff would have two other specialists for the position: Bordeaux player Yoram Moefana and Montpellier player Arthur Vincent. The first had replaced him during the last Six Nations Tournament, where Jonathan Danty had missed the first three meetings through injury. He seems to hold the rope if the Rochelais package is confirmed, but Vincent was treating a ruptured cruciate ligament at the time.
