RTL and RTL Nitro will broadcast the NFL live on TV in Germany in the new football season. Three games per week are broadcast live on free TV. RTL Nitro starts broadcasting pre-season games as early as the preparatory phase.
In addition to the free television broadcasts, the games can also be followed live on RTL+, but for a fee. But there is a small catch, because RTL does not broadcast the NFL games in Ultra HD – currently the highest TV resolution.
RTL viewers have to do without the very best picture quality
The private broadcaster from Cologne will show the NFL games in normal HD on TV. “UHD broadcasts of the NFL are not planned for the time being, as even the US networks do not broadcast the NFL in native UHD,” said an RTL spokesman.
This year, however, RTL has something new to offer. From August 28th, an NFL radio stream will start from Berlin, which will provide the latest news, comprehensive before and after reports on all game days, a specially designed music program for the NFL sound and interactive fan discussions about the US sports league.
No UHD transmission on RTL
The hosts of this radio show are Alex Kuczkowski, Tiziana Höll and Kevin Wieschhues. The first celebrity guest will be none other than Patrick “Coach” Esume. “RTL NFL Radio” is accessible via RTL+ Musik as well as all digital radio players and apps.
